Succession Planning Problems
Succession planning, a subject so frequently avoided, until it must be done. Typically conflict arises in the many years leading up to the inevitable handover of power. Succession planning problems occur due to the nature of family owned business and the disagreements about roles, responsibilities and capabilities.
I work with each key stakeholder to help them see what is best for them and the business. Ultimately a succssful long term business is in the best interest of everyone. Realistically, egos and emotions take over, practical and pragmatic decision making becomes very difficult and in many cases impossible.
With my involvement as a neutral third party, I help the participants make the best possible business decisions while considering the family issues.
